During the holidays you may want to remember the US Army soldiers abroad. My husband, SPC Michael Snitzer (MP), is currently deployed to Camp Humphreys, South Korea. We will miss him this Christmas as he completes his 15 month deployment; we just recently found out that his deployment as been extended. However, my husband feels fortunate that he has a family with whom he can speak to on the phone regularly and receive holiday mail. Some of the soldiers in my husbands unit will not have this opportunity. Many times being a soldier can be a solitary life as frequent deployments are difficult for relationships to endure. It lifts the spirits any time a soldier can collect a package from a kind heart back home while deployed.

The Coop would like invite you and your child to create a Christmas card for a soldier who is deployed to my husbands Military Police Unit in South Korea. If anyone would like to include an ornament, cookies, other baked goods, or small gifts like warm socks these are often comforts that deployed soldiers enjoy. Packages and letters take about one week to arrive at Camp Humphreys. Camp Humphreys is a very populated base and soldiers have access to stores, so hygiene products are appreciated, but not necessary. More importantly are the kind words of support and just knowing that someone back home is thinking about the sacrifices our US soldiers have made.

Anyone interested should talk with Mrs. Richards or Katie Snitzer (Mikah in Pre-K’s mom). Thank you for your consideration and support!

Be sure that any food that you bring in is nut free and is not manufactured at a factory producing nut products. This information is usually found around the Nutrition Facts or the ingredients list. Please do not bring any goods from a bakery as most bakeries use nuts.

You can find the list of acceptable nut free snacks on our website. If you go to the Parents area, you will find Snack Information. There you can click on the list of nut free snacks and nut free candy.

If you have any questions, you can bring the food item in the day BEFORE and your child’s teacher will let you know if it is ok.

The South Euclid Fall Festival is less than a month away on Friday October 23rd from 6-8pm. We could still use your help with donations. Donations vary from $10 – $200 worth of gift cards, and merchandise. The items that went well last year included items for family game night, or even parent date nights. We could also use restaraunt donations for food that night. Have any gift cards laying around? Why not donate them and let us use them either as part of a gift, or to buy items for the baskets.
